National Sunday Law

30thD, 9thM

Praying this morning. Feeling nothing in particular on my heart…but wanting to pray about our newly elected leaders for their protection as I feel we should not let our guard down for even one minute. Then, thinking about how Donald Trump is new to Christianity, but Mike Pence is not. What came into my mind was “National Sunday Law”. I received a booklet in the mail back in the mid 90s. I suppose I can credit that booklet somewhat with my slow awakening to the True Sabbath. It took about 20 years. Anyway, the main thrust of the subject matter was a forewarning that what we once called “blue laws” will come back but with more force. In other words…back in the day, stores were closed for business, but people still went about mowing their yards or raking leaves.

When the blue laws were done away with, it became a free for all, people going out to eat, shopping, etc. Now, Christians do all sorts of things on Sunday (what they call Sabbath). Among the Xian population there are those rising up and learning about the true Sabbath and doing their best to observe it, guard it, keep it Holy (Qodesh). Even most secular Jews don’t keep the Sabbath and many could be put to shame by their Xian Torah keeping brethren.

Moving on. A what if…came to mind in that with Donald Trump being so new to the Faith, he might be listening very hard to Mike Pence and other Christian leaders and what if….”National Sunday Law” becomes a reality? We have already seen some mighty moving in the business arena since Donald Trump has been elected, even though he’s not even in office yet. Clearly he is a “Can do” person and he can push things that we didn’t think could be moved.

Logistically speaking, businesses might and/or will speak out against this. But if this comes to fruition, it would put many into what they feel is a difficult spot. For instance, someone I know who knows, who has knowledge of the Sabbath, still continues to “do things”. Not things of pleasure, but car repairs and work around the house (cutting the grass, raking up leaves, etc). The old saying “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” Sunday has become the day in which to either continue a task, or complete ones that were not started. Going out to eat, grocery shopping, etc. Because for those people who keep the true Sabbath, Sunday IS the first day of the week, the 1st day of the 6 days in which we work. If a law is enacted (due to ignorance of God’s truth), those of us who keep Saturday Sabbath are going to face a dilemma. For my family it might not be so bad as I stay home. I can cut the grass during the week, grocery shop during the week. But for those who need that Sunday to get things done, this will become a burden, especially if they already work 40 hours during the week.

With this election going the way of those who prayed and voted, their mindset is one of “Take Back America” and along with that, it is re’ dedication of our Christian values and ways. Enforcing a new “blue law” would be done with much more gusto and ordinary people would rat out their neighbors if need be to be in keeping with adhering to the “Law”.

Now, I’m not saying this will happen…what I am saying is this is what came out of my prayer time this morning.
