Hos 4:4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another

Judging Brethren

Judging Brethren

Sunday, 13 August, 2017

I’ve been watching people for years now on the net, whether on forums, social network sites, Youtube and Facebook. So many claiming to know this or that and judge others in the process, coming against what someone else might share.

I feel this grieves the Holy Spirit for those of us seeking a spiritual path, through Scripture study. Jesus did say He came to divide.

Just trying to lookup the one verse where He said this and others popped up and I think they all say the same thing.

Luk_12:51  Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Joh_7:43  So there was a division among the people because of him.

Joh_9:16  Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

Joh_10:19  There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

Mat_7:1  Judge not, that ye be not judged.

Luk_6:37  Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

Joh_7:24  Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

1Ti 5:17  Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

1Ti 5:18  For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

1Ti 5:19  Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.

Jas 5:9  Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

1Co_4:5  Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

2Th 3:11  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

2Th 3:12  Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Each of us as separate members of the Body of Christ, have been given special assignments and gifts. Who are we to come against that? Even if we take these things to the Father in prayer, we have no business judging them publicly on forums for all to see. Each of us must take these things QUIETLY and pray about it and WAIT, upon the LORD to either bless the message or rebuke it or help the one who feels offended to understand it. Even so, we are not at a place where we can know all that is going on. None of us can ever claim that. Of all the above verses the one I really also sought out I could not find, but it goes like this:

If someone feels another is in error, doing or saying something they ought not, then go to them privately. If they continue, then go to them with two others, if still no resolve, then engage the assembly.

It seems this rule gets broken a lot. I could list countless examples of differing ideas, such as the tribulation issue; pre, mid or post trib. I could mention flat earth or spherical earth. These are just two examples and folks, these things have NOTHING to do with Salvation.

The truth is going to come out with the wash one day, but if any of us judges another we ourselves stand in danger of judgment especially, most especially if we judge one another publicly without first taking it privately. If one is unable to go to another in private, then shut up. Take it to the Father in prayer and let Him work it out and if He is silent on the matter, then LEAVE IT BE.
