Analogy of being saved. Tim Conway
Imagine you are a christian in the Roman era, and you were unfortunate enough to be captured on Caesars birthday. Big event at the colosseum and you are in a cage with others.
You are led out and pushed up some stairs. You are so afraid your knees are as jelly as you reach the top of the stairs and are pushed out to see a huge crowd calling for your blood for their sick entertainment. All you have is a dagger.
You walk out further and you hear the sound of cogs and wheels as like machinery. A cage rises from the center of the killing field and inside is a lion. It has been starved for 4 days and poked 24 hours of every day by sticks to make it crazy with anger.
It sees you and you let loose your bowels and your strength drains away, you are riveted to the spot as you know you are about to suffer an extremely vicious death, eaten literally alive.
The Lion pads forward growling, about to charge you can see it in it's eyes.
A large man of great strength leaps over the wall and runs between you and the lion.
He grabs the lion by the head and forces it down and yells at it in the face to leave you alone. The lion is suddenly terrified and escapes backwards as the man rushes over, takes you hand and runs with you out of the colosseum into the street.
You feel the freedom but you are still too shocked to yet speak. The man leads you across the street to a restaurant where he orders for you are banquet meal, you haven't eaten in, you forgot where last and when.
The man says to you, eat, relax I will be back and strides away out of the door.
When you can speak you ask the man serving the food. "Who is that man?"
Oh, that's Yeshua, he does this whenever He can.
"How do I see Him again you ask?"
And from that moment, you are waiting for to see Him again, just to be in His mighty presence, to get to know Him. You feel you must, you must.
And that is how we should all feel about Him. Woe to us if He says to you in that day, depart from me because I never knew you. WE should be searching for Him, really searching for Him.
