What Was Nailed to The Cross?

Shabbat, 7 December, 2013
For all of us who began our walk of faith as Christians, we have been taught that "Jesus" nailed the law to the cross and we are no longer obligated to keep the Commandments. Much of Christian doctrine also teaches alongside, that the Old Testament no longer applies. Yet, only in deeper study of the Old Testament, specifically the Teaching and Instruction (known as the Hebrew Torah) given to Moses for all of Israel by YHWH not only clarifies but broadens the scope of understanding so that we can see what was really done on that cross by EHYEHshua.
First, examine here EHYEHshua's own words:
Mat_5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
EHYEHshua tells us quite plainly and distinctly that destroying the Law (Teaching and Instruction given to Moses by YHWH for Israel) was not His mission at all, but to fully keep it and fulfill it.
>>
Looking at the Teaching and Instruction that Moses was given by YHWH for the Children of Israel, we find in most cases, DEATH is the CURSE that is rendered upon those who SIN.
Deu 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
Deu 30:16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Deu 30:17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
Deu 30:18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
So, if DEATH is the CURSE that befalls us when we SIN; then what is SIN? In the Hebrew we find that "SIN" is the Hebrew word :
H2398
חטא
châṭâ'
khaw-taw'
A primitive root; properly to miss; hence (figuratively and generally) to sin; by inference to forfeit, lack, expiate, repent, (causatively) lead astray, condemn: - bear the blame, cleanse, commit [sin], by fault, harm he hath done, loss, miss, (make) offend (-er), offer for sin, purge, purify (self), make reconciliation, (cause, make) sin (-ful, -ness), trespassive
The Teaching and Instruction ALSO gives us understanding about the duties and responsibilities of the High Priest, not only with respect to His own sins, but those of His house, family, and all of Israel. ALL of the Congregation of the Children of Israel.
Not only sins that have knowingly been committed, but even sins committed by Israel that were done UNKNOWINGLY. Could this provision be, for the Children of the Lost House of Israel as EHYEHshua said:
Mat_10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat_15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Act_2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Let's look at verses from the Teaching and Instruction given to Moses by YHWH for the Children of Israel regarding instructions for SINNING IN IGNORANCE:
Num 15:22 And if ye have erred, and not observed all these commandments, which the LORD hath spoken unto Moses,
Num 15:23 Even all that the LORD hath commanded you by the hand of Moses, from the day that the LORD commanded Moses, and henceforward among your generations;
Num 15:24 Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering.
Num 15:25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance:
Num 15:26 And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.
Num 15:27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.
Num 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.
Of course, we also know that it is the High Priest who enters in to the Holy of Holies to atone for all the sins of Israel, once a year:
Lev 16:32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:
Lev 16:33 And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.
Lev 16:34 And this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
So then, EHYEHshua, being our High Priest made a once and for all atonement for ALL the sins committed by ALL if the Congregation of Israel; those knowingly committed and those committed in IGNORANCE.
ALL SIN, past, present and future.
FUTURE is crucial, if we are to accept that Most Christians are most likely those of the lost sheep of the House of Israel:
Mat_10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat_15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
FUTURE is critical because -IF- Christians are the lost sheep of the House of Israel, then every single day, sins are committed in ignorance. This ignorance is from the doctrines taught by men who began their departure from YHWH's Teaching and Instruction, when Jereboam, a son of Ephraim, first being appointed by Solomon to be ruler over the House of Joseph; then became king of the Ten Tribes (as prophesied by Ahijah the Shilonite:
1Ki 11:28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
1Ki 11:29 And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two were alone in the field:
1Ki 11:30 And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces:
1Ki 11:31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:
Then Jereboam took the Ten Tribes and made priests of anyone and even sought to make feast days other than what was commanded by YHWH. In short, Jereboam paved the way for Israel to begin their departure from the Truth and departure from their GOD, YHWH. See 1 Kings, chapter 12.
So then, -IF- the Children of Israel, are LOST and if the Children of Israel have lost their way in the knowledge of WHO THEY ARE, it stands to reason, by celebrating incorrect feast days and appointing anyone they like as a priest, rather than all that is instructed and commanded by YHWH; that by "worshipping" the two golden calves that Jereboam set up, the beginnings of sinning in ignorance has it's roots.
Man, having free will, making choices and decisions and attempting to justify their own beliefs, everyone then doing what seemed right in their own eyes, perhaps even declaring the things they wanted to do as a tradition, leading YHWH's children even further down the wrong path, but all this time it is done in ignorance.
YHWH LOVES HIS CHILDREN. So if they have gone astray, HE is like any other parent in that He will do whatever is necessary to help them; to save them. HE sends His one and only Begotten Son to be the Redeemer of their SIN. Not to do away with The Word, but to Fulfill it. Complete it, and in the end saying: "It is finished."
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not ----- in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
"Law" and "Faith".
Two separate things.
Yet BOTH are seen here as required as we find the verse to say "THEM" directing us to DO BOTH.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Deu_21:23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law
That CURSE being DEATH from committing SIN, not the doing away with the LAW/TORAH. Perhaps the verse should read more accurately:
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of ""death through disobedience of"" the law

Peter tells us here in writing that Paul's words are hard to understand and some men have crept in unawares and have twisted them for their profit.
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Even Paul himself WARNS us:
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Even PAUL warns to be CAREFUL to not misunderstand what TRUTH IS. That TRUTH being EHYEHshua Himself and HE WAS and IS the WORD manifest in flesh and that WORD is TORAH and that WORD was with God, and that WORD IS GOD and if EHYEHshua LIVES, then HE is the LIVING GOD and if He is LIVING and HE is the WORD then the TORAH is the LIVING WORD, and the TWO ARE ONE.
Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
"Being dead in your sins"; meaning sinning bringing about the CURSE of DEATH.
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
"The handwriting of the ordinances that was against us"; being those Commandments and Statutes written of in Deuteronomy, by the hand of Moses as told to him by YHWH for the Children of Israel, that IF-- they chose LIFE; That is, to OBEY and KEEP the Commandments set before them, they would LIVE.
BUT---IF-- they chose DEATH, by NOT DOING Obeying and keeping the Commandments), then the CURSE of DEATH would come upon them.
So then, in effect, Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, means that the CURSE of DEATH brought about by NOT KEEPING the Commandments was,
IN EFFECT, NAILED to the Cross, NOT the LAW/TORAH/Teaching and Instruction.
To reiterate: The LAW was not what was nailed to the Cross. It was IN FACT the CURSE of DEATH THROUGH DISOBEDIENCE to that Law that was nailed to the Cross.
THIS----is why EHYEHshua came in the flesh. To relate to us on our level. To experience for Himself what we are up against as we war in the flesh and are constantly bombarded with lies, falsehoods and untruths. To be our EXAMPLE of TRUTH.
Since "man" sought to glorify himself getting others to follow them, suppressing truth and making up false worship on false days, destroying, manipulating and denying the TRUTH to all; then YHWH had this only recourse; To send His Son to help us; to send His Son to REDEEM us from the CURSE of DEATH brought about by SIN which IS DISOBEDIENCE to YHWH's Commandments.
So then, clearly it was not the LAW which was nailed to the Cross, but it was the CURSE of DEATH brought about by DISOBEDIENCE.
Wrapping this up we find that if EHYEHshua is the WORD that was with God, that IS GOD, Then He IS the LIVING WORD. If He is the Living Word, then HE IS TORAH. If He is Torah, then how could He do away with the Law/Torah? It is a contradiction, it is a paradox, a conundrum, whatever you wish to call it, it just cannot be both. He cannot take away Himself, He cannot contradict Himself. to do so, is going against the WORD; To go against the WORD is to render it worthless and we then have NOTHING.
