Common Lies You Have Been Taught

“I love my pork barbecue and God said I could eat it.” The Law has been done away with. Really? Do we believe that our God does not change? If so, why would we believe His Teaching and Instruction has been done away with? If God changed His mind, then how can we count on Him to keep His promises to us? Either He keeps His word, or He does not. We are going to look at common incorrectly taught verses and concepts which have caused great stumbling in the Christian community.
First we must also understand that we have been conditioned to a Greek mindset. That is, taking the Word at face value in the English translations without ever considering what the actual Greek or Hebrew word really means. Some of the greatest examples of false teaching are presented here.
We Can Eat Whatever We Want
Act 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
Act 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Act 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
Act 10:16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
This is about where pastors stop. They do not teach these verses in the context of what God actually meant. If we look further, we find out that God is telling Peter to teach among the Gentiles.
Act 10:17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
Act 10:18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
Act 10:19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
Act 10:20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
Act 10:21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
Act 10:22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
Act 10:23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
Act 10:24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
Act 10:25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
Act 10:26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
Act 10:27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
Act 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
The vision that was given to Peter was not about food. It was about being in the company of those who are not clean by reason of the Word.
Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Whether pastors teaching this realize it or not, to deny or OMIT these verses is to steer people away from the truth of understanding that we should be keeping the Torah of God.
One might then ask or state that the Law has nothing to do with Christians anyway. Again, this is yet another false teaching that encompasses many lies. We are lied to about the church replacing Israel. We are lied to about spiritual verses blood heritage. In some cases we are told that Israel does not exist anymore. All of these ideas are NOT IN SCRIPTURE. EVER.
Many who are Christians are most likely direct descendants of the scattered nation of Israel, they just don’t know it. They have lost their heritage through migration, assimilation, adaptation and cultural immersion. They have lost it through name changes, adoptions and a host of other reasons.
Why is that Jesus gave us important clues for which none seem to see or hear?
(Mat 10:6 KJV) But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
(Mat 15:24 KJV) But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
So then….. WHY do we not believe Him and continue in our sins?? Because we have misunderstood the meanings of His word.
WHY does Jesus say this and what -exactly- does He mean by it:
(Mat 8:12 KJV) But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Mat 22:13 KJV) Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(Mat 25:30 KJV) And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Then too, He said:
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
(Jas 2:20 KJV) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
(Jas 2:26 KJV) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus said:
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
