Did Jesus really just give Simon a second name of “Peter”? Or might it have been something else? If the material presented below makes one stop and reconsider, then it might change how we have been taught the verse whereby Jesus calls Peter His rock. Clearly this is a misleading of the scripture. In no way would Jesus see Peter as His rock. This would be blasphemy. We should reconsider all that is presented below.
