Christian teaching has mistaken the meaning of the word "sin". Not their fault, but the fault of wayward shepherds who have not taught truth but instead blindly accepted what they have been taught themselves in seminary or other religious institutions.

Most Christians just go along with the belief that Jesus died for our sins and leave it at that. There is so much more to what salvation is, what it truly means. If we study the Torah we find that EHYEHshua died NOT for our sins so much as HE made the one time blood atonement that the High Priest performs for ALL CURSE of DEATH from not keeping the commandments.

The "sin" is "missing the mark"; the MISSING the MARK is not keeping Commandments. “Transgression, trespass” are just a couple of other words used to define disobedience of what God set in place for us to be set apart to Him. Only if we obey, can we have full blessing from Him.

Since the lost sheep of the House of Israel, lost their way, they do not know they are sinning and in order for them to be saved, SOMEONE had to rescue them once and for all. That is what EHYEHshua did for us. We are lost, we do not recall who we are, but because we are His Chosen ones, He had to do something for us since we could not do it for ourselves.

Because Israel entered into a legally binding covenant with God, being that it was His Word, He cannot back on it. Death IS the punishment for transgression. Our ancestors entered into that legally binding covenant and WE, being descendants are culpable legally to uphold it.

BUT – because God so loved the “world” (His creation) He sent His only Son along with His Blood to SAVE US from certain death. We walk in ignorance of truth because HE scattered us and caused us to FORGET who we are and where we came from.

The Law NEVER CHANGED. THE LAW was NOT DONE AWAY. Blood is what was needed to atone for sins and still BLOOD is. The only thing different was the TYPE of BLOOD.

Even Torah includes provision in Leviticus for the High Priest to make atonement for the sins of Israel, the ones they commit in IGNORANCE because they do not know they are sinning.

(Lev 4:2 KJV)  Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:

 (Lev 4:13 KJV)  And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;

 (Lev 4:22 KJV)  When a ruler hath sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;

 (Lev 4:27 KJV)  And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;

 (Lev 5:15 KJV)  If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:

 (Lev 5:18 KJV)  And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him.

(Num 15:25 KJV)  And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD, and their sin offering before the LORD, for their ignorance:

(Num 15:26 KJV)  And it shall be forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.

 (Num 15:27 KJV)  And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

 (Num 15:28 KJV)  And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

(Num 15:29 KJV)  Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.

So, to reiterate, EHYEHshua's death was a one time for all, sacrifice to fulfill the CURSE of DEATH for missing the mark.

Because Christians are taught to stay away from Torah, because they have been told the lie that the "Law was done away with”, they cannot grasp the truth of that act. Not that they are unable to grasp it, but through generations of teaching and preaching false understanding of the truth, being now locked in and not questioning these things believing that those in authority at the pulpit know even more than God’s Word.

In other words, it is virtually impossible for anyone to understand what was done on that cross, if they do not study the Torah. The “Law” (commandments) that Israel were commanded to keep, that if they didn't, the consequence was death.

We can look at the Torah as Christians, we can read the commandments and they mean nothing to us unless we are willing to enter in to the Covenant of God that He gave us through His servant Moses. Israel when they were in Egypt, began the process of entering into the Covenant when they followed and obeyed the Instruction of YHWH to keep Passover. The final sealing was performed on Pentecost, that being the 3rd month, the 3rd day as we find it in Exodus chapter 19.

Since God does not change, EVER---then His Word MUST STAND and He cannot go back on it. How could He change His edicts which He put in place for us? To do so would mean we could never rely on Him, count on his Word as promised to us to be a holy nation, a kingdom of priests. He changed NOTHING:

Mal 3:6  For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Mic 2:7(JPS)  Do I change, O house of Jacob? Is the spirit of the LORD straitened? Are these His doings? Do not My words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

In the book of Leviticus there is provision, a "loophole" so to speak. The High Priest was allowed once a year, to atone for all the sins of Israel even the sins they did without knowing they did it.

Since EHYEHshua had not only the Royal blood of Judah, allowing Him to LEGALLY be King over Israel, He also had in His bloodline, the Aaronic priest lines which would then allow Him LEGALLY to enter in as High Priest and ATONE for ALL of Israel's sins. So then, for Him to die on the cross was a one time and for all ATONEMENT for the CURSE OF DEATH that comes from not keeping the commandments. The King and Priest died for us. The Holy order of Melchi (King) – zedek (sons of Zadok).

Now, the curse of death, the punishment for committing sins both known and unknown by us has been fulfilled, taken care of once and for all time.

If we accept and receive that Blood, the Blood of the Lamb of God, the only begotten of the Father, then we have atonement for our sins, past, present and future. But it does not mean we should continue in our sins. We must then press on to honor His atonement for us, by making changes in ourselves so that we renew our minds toward Him, we renew our vows that our forefathers made.

It’s really a good thing that His Blood is divine, eternal and sinless. Being eternal blood is what allows us covering for current and future sins we will commit because we live in a fallen world, we will commit because we are mostly ignorant of His commandments and we find ourselves always at the mercy of our flesh in the physical and mental and emotional world in which we live. People and circumstances will push our buttons, that’s a given and we must choose to repent each and every time we stumble.

Yes, we have salvation through Jesus, but there is a caveat and that caveat is that we cannot continue to walk in sin. We need His help daily, we need His Holy Spirit daily.

The biggest argument that comes up is the one about the law being done away with, that once we receive the Blood of Christ Jesus we are off scot free. Do you really think you can continue to do the things in which you sinned without consequence? Even with the Blood which saves us, we still must continually have a repentant heart and we must strive to reach that place where when we stumble, we will immediately repent asking forgiveness from Father God.

One of Paul’s (and there are many) most famously misunderstood verses was brought to light later in 2016 (this teaching was originally done in 2014) while engaging in debate with another:

Col 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Col 2:14  Blotting outG1813 theG3588 handwritingG5498 of ordinancesG1378 that was againstG2596 us,G2257 whichG3739 wasG2258 contraryG5227 to us,G2254 andG2532 tookG142 itG846 out ofG1537 theG3588 way,G3319 nailingG4338 itG846 to his cross;G4716

G1813 "Blotting out"

ἐξαλείφω

exaleiphō

ex-al-i'-fo

From G1537 and G218; to smear out, that is, obliterate (erase tears, figuratively pardon sin): - blot out, wipe away.

Reading the verse using the "plug and play" method:

Col 2:14  PARDON THE SIN of the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Reading this verse with the proper and true meaning PARDON THE SIN we see and understand that the sin has been pardoned the very sin outlined in the commandments. The wages of sin is death. The wages of sin is DEATH, but we have been pardoned (salvation through the Blood of Jesus), given a stay of execution if you will. But that would mean a temporary stay? No. But we cannot continue to commit the same crimes over and over again.

A murderer might be given a life sentence or he might get out on good behavior. But if he commits this crime again he will get the death sentence. Unless we learn from our wrongs, unless we REPENT each and every time we fall, even if saved by the Blood of Christ there will be consequences, there has to be. What they might be are framed out in the words of Jesus Himself:

Mat 5:17  Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Mat 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Please note, that Jesus isn’t saying you won’t be in the kingdom, but He is saying each has their place according to their works, good and bad. Keep the commandments you will be called great; break even one of the least commandments you will be called least. In short, all in Christ have salvation unto life, but our rewards are based on works.

Mat 5:20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

In fact read the rest of the words of Jesus in that chapter.

Here’s even more:

Mat 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mat 7:24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And so, Jesus also said these:

(Joh 14:15 KJV)  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

(Joh 15:10 KJV)  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

And who are these who do:

Rev 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
