Refusal to Turn From Our Ways

We the people, this nation of America, have spoken in this last election. We got what we hoped and prayed for. That is a man who remembers how great this country was when God was in the mix. And while he’s been a secular man for most of his life, he has become a Christian and has had Christian pastors and Jewish rabbis praying over him with the laying on of hands. Even before he has taken office he has made positive moves to bring back to this nation, part of what has made it great. He’s also made a promise to bring back Christmas.
My first thought when I saw that article was of a small booklet that came in my mail back in the mid 90s. The message was the first step of a slow journey that made its completion in 2006. My eyes were opened about God’s Sabbath and how we were not keeping it. That booklet was titled “National Sunday Law”. God makes no mistakes. Ever.
It is no mistake that I am in the book of Jeremiah and have been for weeks now. I’ve read it countless times over the years since 1985. Now that we have also been studying the Torah, we see with a new set of eyes. Teshubah; It means “turn back”. Even more so, RETURN TO ME.
There are numerous verses in scripture that warn us, plead with us, to turn from our wicked ways or repercussions will follow. Most think it has nothing to do with us; it is for the Jewish people. That could not be further from the truth.
To “return” to God is to abandon everything that is not of Him, keeping His ways, not ours. It means stripping one’s self of their comfort zone, their warm fuzzy trees and lights. Here are just some of the verses found in Jeremiah:
Jer 5:3 O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? Thou hast stricken them, but they did not feel it; We have been stricken, with drought in places, with mildew we have been blasted through aerial spraying which blocks the sun’s UV, allowing mold to grow everywhere, making people sick. Some have tried to tell of all of this and they are scorned and scoffed at. thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive chastisement; We have been consumed by taxes, legislative burdens, monetary inflation under the rule of a pharaoh that does not know Joseph (Joseph does not know who he is).they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

This last part of the verse is the most concerning. Right now, because of who we have elected, because of his stance on Christmas; because he is so new to Christianity, he will believe what pastors will tell him and he will stand with them, sadly in a huge untruth and the masses of people will stand with him and their necks will be stiff, their faces harder than rock and they will REFUSE to listen to those who are the watchmen on the wall.
Jer 5:4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they have become foolish; for they do not know the way of the LORD nor the judgment of their God.
Jer 5:5 I will go unto the great men, Pastors, church leaders who still walk in untruths and false doctrine, and it is all they have known and they want their power back, so they are focused on what this will do for them. and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke and burst the bonds.
Jer 5:6 Therefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the desert shall destroy them and a tiger shall lie in wait over their cities; anyone that goes out from there shall be torn in pieces because their rebellions have been multiplied, and their backslidings are increased.
Jer 5:7 How shall I pardon thee for this? Thy sons have forsaken me and sworn by them that are not gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. If we do not shed the things which God tells us, do not belong to us, if we do not test all these things, listening to no man, but getting into the Word asking for the Holy Spirit to guide us into truth, we might get a short reprieve, to allow us to do this, but if we do not do it, the rest of what has been foretold by God’s own Word, WILL come to fruition.
Jer 5:9 Shall I not visit for these things? said the LORD; and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Jer 5:10 Go ye up upon her walls and destroy; but make not a full end; take away her battlements for they are not the LORD's.
Jer 5:11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have made a firm decision to rebel against me, saith the LORD.
Jer 5:12 They have denied the LORD and said, He is not; and evil shall not come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine;
Jer 5:15 Behold, I will bring a nation upon you from afar, O house of Israel, saith the LORD; it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou dost not know, neither dost thou understand what they say.
LISTEN to the words of Jesus:
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Do you know what it means to EXCEED the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees??? It means to GO BEYOND what they know, BEYOND what they teach, BEYOND what they practice. The ONLY WAY to do that, is to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN to the WORD itself.
Because the latter half of that verse, the latter half of the Words of Jesus are this:
ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
