This blog is going to be a place where members can contribute to add companies that rip off consumers. I got seriously burned by the first one listed, should have sought out customer reviews beforehand and am still in the process of trying to get my money back.
The SCAM is this:
ANNIECLOTH clothing website.
They have great items depicted at really great prices. A California based company. You place your order and you receive items for which they are NOT the same as depicted in either material quality, color and even size.
When you attempt to contact the company to get a refund and return the items, they give you the runa round by first offering a paltry 15% partial refund and you keep the items. you can refuse that and they will up the partial refund to say 25%. If you stand your ground insisting to return the unwearable items they give you a Chinese address and if you take your package to the Post Office and have it weighed and postage costs calculated, in many cases you will find the cost to send back is higher than what you spent, there are no guarantees it will get to the destination and there could be even more cost incurred due to customs. Also, there is no assurance the package will arrive intact, thereby VOIDING any refund. Consider also it could take literally months to get to the destination.
Annie Cloth also strictly stipulates HOW the items are to be packaged including bogus "original" WHITE ZIPPERED BAG that they must be returned in to qualify for refund. But here's the catch: The items never came in this WHITE ZIPPERED BAG, so technically they can still refuse to refund the customer.
After the fact, I found so far, three different websites that have posted consumer complaints and the list is endless you could literally spend days sifitng through all the complaints against this company.
After finding out it would cost me well over what I spent for the items, in mailing costs, I decided to eat the purchase and take the 25% they offered me. They refused to reply to my emails after that. I sent one email each day for three days and still no reply. I then filed a dispute claim with the intermediary payment center* and THEN they responded back stating they could not give me the 25% now that I had filed a dispute with the intermediary payment center*.
Sadly, the intermediary payment center* did not read my complaint because if they had, they would not have handled it by letting AnnieCloth refund as long as I sent the items to that same Chinese address that would cost me more than the items purchased.
A California company selling chinese knock offs that are not even marginal knock offs but unwearable junk.
They refuse to receive refunds to California forcing the customer to send them back to China, incurring stupidly high costs with absolutely no assurance of the package getting there and to top that off, placing strict stipulations for returning the items in a specifically described original packing for which they were not even packed in when received by the customer) and if they are not returned in that WHITE ZIPPERED BAG then by their return policy, they can reject refunding the customer.
BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE ITEMS FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! ANNIE CLOTH!!!
