Sabbath, 12thD, 2ndM, (4th of 7 Sabbath Count of Feast of Weeks)

Gen 2:2  And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Gen 2:3  And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

There are 134 verses in KJV w/Apocrypha) which we find the word "Sabbath". In just about all of them it is commanded to keep it holy, to rest.

"Seventh day" is found in 52 verses.

In The Book of Jasher, chapter 3:

36 And when the kings returned they caused a census to be taken, in

order to know the number of remaining men that went with Enoch; and it

was upon the seventh day that Enoch ascended into heaven in a

whirlwind, with horses and chariots of fire.

Enoch ascended into heaven in a whirlwind on the 7th day.

When a person comes into the understanding of what it means to keep the 7th Day Sabbath, something changes. Blessings come, but the enemy also comes because there is power in the keeping of Sabbath, the 7th day that YHWH blessed and sanctified.

It is a holy day, a clean day, set apart. When we keep it, we are entering into His rest which means a little more than just repose:

Psa_95:11  Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Psa_132:14  This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

In the above Psalms the Hebrew word for "rest" is :

H4496 "my rest"

מנחה    מנוּחה

menûchâh  menûchâh

men-oo-khaw', men-oo-khaw'

Feminine of H4495; repose or (adverbially) peacefully; figuratively consolation (specifically matrimony); hence (concretely) an abode: - comfortable, ease, quiet, rest (-ing place), still.

So, Sabbath is Holy, Set Apart, Sanctified and it is Matrimony. Could it be that those who keep Sabbath are the Bride?

If keeping the DY (Divine Year) Calendar in Enoch, placing the intercalary days as occurring always on a Sabbath at the end of every set of three months, thus resetting the 1st,4th,7th and 10th months, so that the their 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days will always fall on Sabbath days; What we have then, is that Passover will always occur on a Sabbath (recall in Gospel of John):

Joh_19:31  The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Jesus asked His disciples to partake of bread and wine and to do it in remembrance of Him :

Luk_22:19  And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

The Betrothal of The Bride of Messiah is found in the patterns of the Passover Feast Day. There is a betrothal tradition of Hebraic origin that also patterns after this:

In ancient times in Israel, when a man wished to have the hand of a  woman in marriage, He would visit the father of his future bride to discuss the price that would be necessary for her hand.(According to Torah, this "bride price" was 30 shekels Lev 27:4; recall this is the price Jesus was betrayed for as payment for the Bride, that is Israel)

The prospective Groom  visited his intended Bride to make His Love known  to her with plans for the future and their commitment to each other.

After making His plans known to her, wine was offered. He would pour into a cup and drink of this wine then offer it to her. (Are you seeing the pattern in the Last Supper that Jesus did with His disciples?? This was a foreshadowing of the betrothal which would be sanctified and ratified through the Passover Feast from this time forward ). He would then offer her the cup and if she partook of that cup, if she was in "agreement" with what He offered, that was her acceptance of the marriage proposal. They are now betrothed.

She is now set apart through this ritual of betrothal, she has entered into the marriage covenant.

Recall now, the words of Jesus to His Bride:

Joh 14:1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Joh 14:2  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Joh 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

When partaking of the Passover, one becomes "sealed" into the covenant, becoming a "Bride in waiting".

The prospective Groom, then departs, returning to His Father's House to prepare a "place".

Only the Father could say when all was finished and ready for His Son's Bride.

During this time, it is the Bride's responsibility to prepare for her Bridegroom's return.

If we can parallel her wedding dress as being the garments of linen, pure and white. This would be preparing of her soul through the keeping of His Commandments as they are the betrothal contract in writing. Preparation is the process by which she becomes "CLEAN". Washing herself by immersing in the Word and walking in obedience to His Voice.

The Bride remains in seclusion from the "world" wearing a "veil". In Daily Preparation for the time when He would come for her; setting herself apart from the "world" in her ways, her walk and her faith.

According to tradition, when the Groom comes for His Bride, He comes on a day not known and in the night. The Bride must be ready at all times, being watchful and on the lookout for Him.

She only gets one shot at listening to hear Him coming and it is done with a shout.

Her lamp must be ready and full of oil. This "oil" is the Light of Life, that is Torah, keeping the Commandments as this is her show of love for Her Bridegroom.

Joh 3:29  He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

The Bridegroom is then escorted along with His Bride by the Wedding Party and they return to the

Father's House. There, is prepared a wedding feast and the Chuppah, or Bridal Chamber".

The Spring feast days were fulfilled by the Bridegroom and His proposal; the Fall Feasts will be

fulfilled when He comes back for His Bride and the Wedding takes place. This is a seven day event

and is fulfilled in the Feast of Tabernacles.  According to tradition, the Bride remains in the Chuppah

until the Groom brings her out after the 7 days have been completed. This brings us to the 8th Great

Day of the Feast.

All of YHWH's Appointed Times are patterns to help us through practicing them, to understands the

prophetic meanings and the wedding tradition played out. The Biblical Feast Days are prophetic

"rehearsals" we partake in, not only in order to know the times, but to practice our part as the Bride in

Waiting. During this walk in obedience keeping the Feast Days, we are making our "oil" for the

lamps.

If we are to embrace the meanings for the words given as "rest", then there appear to be two requirements to be the Bride:

1. The Keeping of Sabbath in knowledge, obedience and sincerity of the heart out of love for YHWH.

 2. The Passover meal kept with a pure heart in obedience to Jesus' words.

Author's note: I didn't begin this study with any intent of going beyond an understanding of the power of the keeping of the Sabbath. It was during this process of the deeper meanings of the Hebrew words that the connection became possible.  Also, the DY(Divine Year) 364 day calendar plays a vital role in understanding how important and crucial the Sabbath is. It is the key to unlocking many mysterious and confusing verses and theories which have been debated.
