The Four Cups of Wine at Passover

The Four Cups of Wine at Passover

Have to share this. I too have wondered about the rapture, whether it is real or not and stayed on the fence about it and as open minded about (if it was real) whether it would be pre, mid or post trib. In learning about the Feast days, we find in the Jewish community, the tradition of four cups of wine that are part of Passover. Each cup means something, but up until this morning, I didn't know exactly what and I'd like to share this with you. I am reading in Rabbi Jonathan Sacks books "Covenant and Conversation" this one is about the book of Exodus. Recall the words of Jesus: Mar_14:25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. HE says this also in Matthew and Luke, so we have 3 witnesses. But going back to MARK: Mar 14:23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. Mar 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. RIGHT before Jesus said He would not drink again until in the Kingdom of God, He described the cup prior as the blood of the renewed convenant. Now...see what Jewish tradition says about these cups of wine: 1st cup - "I will bring you out" 2nd cup - "I will free you" 3rd cup - "I will redeem you" (this is the blood of the renewed covenant cup) 4th cup - "I will take you" (THIS is the one Jesus has not drank yet and won't until He drinks it new in the Kingdom of God!!!!) I WILL TAKE YOU!!!!!!

Reading in another Hebrew translation in Exodus, page 146 rabbinic commentary on the four Pesach Seder cups which again, supports the above reference.

Exo 6:6  Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments:

Exo 6:7  And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
