Calendars/NewMoons

God’s nation of Israel were commanded to NOT use any celestial body to determine

The months and year of His Divine Calendar. The irrefutable proof is found throughout the Scriptures. How do we prove this?

If we are to move forward, if we are to offer the verses, it must be understood that God has the final word. That God created using His Voice and his Word, He spoke it and time began counting from that point.

YHWH must be the fulcrum, the benchmark, the source, the origin of all things as we know them.

For those who understand this, the breakout study should offer confirmation. For those who are still learning and seeking, it is the prayer and hope that the Light of this truth will shine through.

And God spoke….**

 Genesis 1:1   Exodus 12:2              John 1:1

All things, ALL things came from the Word of God spoken and uttered as no other way was done but by the Word, through the Word, decalred of the Word the beginning of all things.

Sun, Moon and Stars given (allotted) to the Gentiles (nations)….

 Deuteronomy 4:19

(ASV)  and lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, thou be drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which Jehovah thy God hath allotted unto all the peoples under the whole heaven.

(Bishops)  Yea, and lest thou lift vp thyne eyes vnto heauen, and when thou seest the sunne, the moone, and the starres, with all the hoast of heauen, shouldest be driuen to worship them, & serue them, and shouldest worship and serue the thynges, which the Lorde thy God hath made to serue all nations vnder the whole heauen.

(Brenton)  and lest having looked up to the sky, and having seen the sun and the moon and the stars, and all the heavenly bodies, thou shouldest go astray and worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God has distributed to all the nations under heaven.

(Darby)  and lest thou lift up thine eyes to the heavens, and see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, the whole host of heaven, and be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, which Jehovah thy God hath assigned unto all peoples under the whole heaven.

(DRB)  Lest perhaps lifting up thy eyes to heaven, thou see the sun and the moon, and all the stars of heaven, and being deceived by error thou adore and serve them, which the Lord thy God created for the service of all the nations, that are under heaven.

(Geneva)  And lest thou lift vp thine eyes vnto heauen, and when thou seest the sunne & the moone and the starres with all the host of heauen, shouldest bee driuen to worship them and serue them, which the Lord thy God hath distributed to all people vnder the whole heauen.

(JPS)  and lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, thou be drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath allotted unto all the peoples under the whole heaven.

(JUB)  And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the host of heaven, and should be driven to worship them and serve them because the LORD thy God has conceded them unto all the peoples under all the heavens.

(KJV)  And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

(KJV+)  And lestH6435 thou lift upH5375 thine eyesH5869 unto heaven,H8064 and when thou seestH7200 (H853) the sun,H8121 and the moon,H3394 and the stars,H3556 even allH3605 the hostH6635 of heaven,H8064 shouldest be drivenH5080 to worshipH7812 them, and serveH5647 them, whichH834 the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath dividedH2505 (H853) unto allH3605 nationsH5971 underH8478 the wholeH3605 heaven.H8064

(KJV-1611)  (KJVA)  (KJV-BRG)  ALL flavors of KJV render the word DIVIDED which is not a clear and direct enough word.

See below the Strong’s definition:

H2505

חלק

châlaq

khaw-lak'

A primitive root; to be smooth (figuratively); by implication (as smooth stones were used for lots) to apportion or separate: - deal, distribute, divide, flatter, give, (have, im-) part (-ner), take away a portion, receive, separate self, (be) smooth (-er).

In short, the other nations were allowed by God to look to the sun, moon and stars but Israel was strictly FORBIDDEN. They were to HEAR His Voice, to OBEY His Word, to WAIT upon Him to give them their beginning. This is EXACTLY what He did as it is written in Exodus.

(MKJV)  and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, lest you should be driven to worship them and serve them, which Jehovah your God has allotted to all nations under all the heavens.

(The Scriptures 1998+)  and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and shall see the sun, and the moon, and the stars – all the host of the heavens – and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them, which יהוה your Elohim has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.

(Webster)  And lest thou shouldst lift up thy eyes to heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldst be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided to all nations under the whole heaven.

(YLT)  `And lest thou lift up thine eyes towards the heavens, and hast seen the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and thou hast been forced, and hast bowed thyself to them, and served them, which Jehovah thy God hath apportioned to all the peoples under the whole heavens.

Please also NOTE the rest of the words of that verse which tell of all peoples/nations UNDER the whole heavens. This appears to imply that Israel is not only set apart with instruction and warning to not follow the celestial bodies, but they are not of this world which is under the whole heavens!!

Are they possibly the same ones of whom Jesus spoke?

Joh 15:19  If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Joh 17:14  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Joh 17:16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Joh 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Further proof:

Isa 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.

Isa 1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.

Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Job 31:26  If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;

Job 31:27  And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

Job 31:28  This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.

Jer 8:2  And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

Here is yet another verse including rabbinic commentary from Stone's Edition of the Tanach:

Isa 24:23  Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for the LORD of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His elders shall be Glory.

(Rabbinic Commentary) - They will no longer be worshipped once the glory of God becomes clear for all to see (Targum)

ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN:

Rev_21:23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Rev_22:5  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
