What is it? What does it mean? Why is it important to know it?? This seemingly obscure two letter word (et) has been omitted from all English translations of Scripture.

Apparently, even the Jewish sages are puzzled by it.

When I walked as a babe, I drank as a babe. When most of us first come to Christ, we do so out of blind faith, at the end of our rope, trying anything to see if life can get better. We might begin reading the bible but with a veil. While that veil has been rent in two by Jesus’ Blood, we don’t always enter in to receive the meat offered by the Holy Spirit. We might begin attending a church, listening to a man on the pulpit, but even so, whatever he might preach, he does so with the influence of his own personal experience with a smattering of scripture here and there and often times edited with omitted parts. It is no wonder that this concept of Aleph Tau seems confusing to many. Add to that the fact that “Aleph Tau” (et) has not been included in English versions as no one seemed to know how to translate it. We must dig into the Hebrew to see the revelation of this seemingly obscure and unimportant WORD.

In e-Sword, there is a KJV module which is free that includes the Strong’s definitions built in. The KJV+ is by far, the best bible study tool to come along since e-Sword itself. Anyone desiring to increase their understanding of scripture should have this resource and it is free.

Let’s look at the three most important clues found in the entire bible first:

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.

Now, let’s look at Gen 1:1 and the breakout of the very FIRST occurrence of this WORD:

Gen 1:1  In the beginningH7225 GodH430 createdH1254 (H853) the heavenH8064 and the earth.H776

NOTE the numbers to the right of words or phrases. These are the Strong’s definitions.

Gen 1:1  In the beginningH7225 GodH430 createdH1254 (H853) the heavenH8064 and the earth.H776

NOTE  SEE the (H853) with no word attached to it.

Gen 1:1  In the beginningH7225 GodH430 createdH1254 (H853) the heavenH8064 and the earth.H776

This is the ALEPH TAU (et). What is ALEPH TAU? Let’s break it down:

ALEPH is the FIRST letter of the Hebrew Alphabet (Alephbet in Hebrew).

There are 22 letters in the Hebrew Alephbet. YHWH Elohim (GOD) used ALL these letters when He SPOKE Creation into existence.

TAU is the LAST letter of the Hebrew Alephbet.

What we have then, is the FIRST and the LAST tucked between “created” and “heaven”. Let’s look again:

Gen 1:1  In the beginningH7225 GodH430 createdH1254 (H853) the heavenH8064 and the earth.H776

If we use the plug and play method, we can see something we have not seen nor ever will in any common translation:

In the beginning God created “Aleph Tau”, the heaven and the earth.

In the beginning God created “The FIRST and the LAST”, the heaven and the earth.

In the beginning God created “The WORD” the heaven and the earth.

Can we see this even more clearly now in John?:

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.

Taking it one step further, if the “et” (Aleph Tau) is Jesus also known as the WORD,

Then, the Father of Lights (who is unnamable, ineffable and uncontainable) created Jesus in heaven before He created the earth, placing in HIM all of His attributes; His WORD was Jesus. Jesus, as the WORD spoken and uttered by the Father, HE IS the compilation of all the Hebrew Alephbet that was used to UTTER Creation into existence. Doesn’t it make perfect sense that He should be included in that first verse in Genesis? Absolutely!!! Can we now see how this fits in the verses of Revelation?:

Rev_1:11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Rev_1:17  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Rev_2:8  And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;

Rev_22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Jesus said “ I AM --- the FIRST and the LAST. I AM, the Aleph Tau, I AM the WORD.”
